When Floor Testing May Proceed

Under DoD Manual 4145.26 and DA Pam 385-64, electrical testing of a conductive floor may proceed only when the room or area is free of exposed explosives and flammable gas mixtures.

DoD Manual 4145.26: conductive floors and tabletops

Clause
C6.4.7.5.5
Edition
13 Mar 2008, Change 2

Paragraph C6.4.7.5.5 requires resistance testing of conductive floors and tabletops to proceed only when the room or area is free from exposed explosives and flammable gas mixtures.

This requirement comes from the DoD Contractor’s Safety Manual for Ammunition and Explosives, dated 13 March 2008 and incorporating Change 2 of 31 August 2018. See the DoD conductive-floor guide for the broader testing requirements.

DA Pam 385-64: conductive floors

Edition
24 July 2023

DA Pam 385-64 states that electrical tests of conductive floors will be conducted only when the room or area is free of exposed explosives and/or flammable gas mixtures.

This provision appears in the conductive-floor testing requirements of the Army’s Ammunition and Explosives Safety Standards, dated 24 July 2023.
