SURFACE PREPARATION + MOISTURE EVALUATION
THE CONCRETE CONDITION CONTROLS WHAT CAN BE INSTALLED
Flooring performance begins with the existing floor and concrete substrate rather than the finish material alone. The project review identifies existing coatings or adhesives, contamination, cracks, joints, repairs, drainage, transitions, prior failures, access, and other conditions that can change preparation, system selection, schedule, or price.
Preparation requirements follow the selected flooring system, manufacturer documents, specification, executed scope, and actual site conditions. Removal, mechanical profiling, repairs, joint treatment, cleaning, edge work, and protection are defined for the project. Changed conditions are documented and resolved through the applicable scope and change procedure rather than hidden beneath the new floor.
When included in the scope, Craftsman employees perform concrete-moisture testing and issue a written report. The applicable procedure may use ASTM F2170 with Wagner Rapid RH probes, ASTM F1869 calcium chloride kits, or surface moisture-meter readings where the selected manufacturer and project procedure accept that method. Results are evaluated against the project’s approved acceptance criteria.
A moisture reading does not automatically authorize one universal mitigation system. The selected floor, manufacturer limits, test method, slab condition, vapor exposure, specification, and executed responsibility determine whether installation may proceed, additional evaluation is required, or a separately approved mitigation scope is needed.

Craftsman manages estimating, contracting, scheduling, resource assignment, procurement, project management, safety, billing, documentation, warranty administration, and corrective response through one companywide structure. Project resources are assigned according to the work, not an office address. System experience, current deployment, project location, employee home location, schedule, availability, geographic sequencing, and customer continuity can affect assignment. ACTIVE-FACILITY INSTALLATION

Craftsman can phase flooring installation around continuing operations when the site, selected system, access requirements, schedule, and committed resources permit it. The written phase plan identifies the areas that remain operational, the zones released for flooring work, the routes and boundaries that must remain available, the required exposure milestones, and the authority for handback and restart.
Isolation controls are selected for the preparation method, facility, adjacent operation, specified flooring system, and executed scope. Depending on the work, the plan may address capture at the tool, physical barriers, sealed penetrations, managed air movement, negative-pressure enclosures, vibration restrictions, housekeeping, and separate routes for crews, operations, equipment, and waste. These controls reduce exposure; they are not a universal zero-dust, zero-odor, or uninterrupted-operations promise.
A shutdown window must cover the applicable preparation, installation, cure, inspection or specified testing, cleanup, and handback stages. Planned outages, holiday shutdowns, nights, and weekends can provide those windows. Materials and equipment may be staged in advance when the site and plan permit it, but the selected system, actual conditions, access approvals, and required exposure milestone determine what the window can contain.
Every active project is assigned a non-crew Safety and Operations Manager who is physically present during one shift of each working day, including weekend working days. An on-site skilled foreman directly supervises every installation shift, including shifts outside the Safety and Operations Manager’s site-presence window. Daily or shift reports, changed-condition notices, open-item logs, and phase-handback records preserve the coordination trail when included in the scope.

National and multi-site accounts can operate under a Master Service Agreement—one negotiated contract vehicle across a program of sites. The same structure is available for local repeat and regional multi-location accounts. The executed agreement defines the commercial terms, operating rules, documentation requirements, change procedures, and escalation path that carry across the program; an MSA is available, not automatic.
Program consistency comes from a shared operating framework, not an assumption that every site requires the same floor. Craftsman can carry one direct-workforce model, management structure, installation-leadership system, documentation path, and safety-accountability model across the program while the flooring system, preparation, access, staffing, equipment, schedule, testing, and acceptance requirements remain site-specific.
Multi-site delivery can be sequential, concurrent, or hybrid when the accepted schedule and committed resources allow. The program plan and site work orders identify overlap, staffing, field leadership, equipment allocation, work-window commitments, material assumptions, documentation, and the response if a site loses its scheduled window. Availability is verified against the actual rollout rather than presumed from the agreement.
Standardized commercial terms and reporting formats can coexist with site-specific pricing and execution. Quantities, slab conditions, access, phasing, system selection, testing, and schedule assumptions remain visible in each work order. Defined change procedures prevent unlike sites from being forced into an unsupported universal scope, price, or delivery promise.

Craftsman assembles and delivers the flooring records selected by the relevant system, specification, and executed scope. No project automatically receives every document. Defining required submittals, direct tests, coordinated third-party activities, turnover records, acceptance criteria, and file requirements before award allows the obligations to be scoped and priced instead of assumed.
Every direct Craftsman test ends in a written digital report rather than a bare reading. When specified, reports map readings to floor locations and record applicable site conditions, photographs, acceptance criteria, and pass/fail status. Direct testing can include concrete-moisture testing, ANSI/ESD STM7.1 flooring-resistance testing, and polished-concrete gloss or distinctness-of-image testing where assigned by the project documents.
Craftsman provides a one-year workmanship warranty in the executed contract and project closeout documents. The one-year period begins on the project’s documented completion date, and the executed documents control coverage, exclusions, remedy, and the precise obligation. Applicable manufacturer warranty documents remain separate, while Craftsman coordinates directly with the manufacturer when a possible material issue requires review.
Craftsman normally delivers closeout as a digital folder of individually named PDF files by email. Each filename identifies the project, applicable floor system or area, document type, and date or revision. The executed scope identifies the required contents, recipient, delivery method, format, and retention requirements; other project systems are used when required.
