Replacing 9,000 square feet of VCT with polished concrete
At a church near downtown Austin, Craftsman removed 9,000 square feet of VCT flooring and polished the underlying concrete to create the finished floor.
Polished concrete for new construction in Round Rock
Craftsman installed polished concrete in a new retail and office flex-space building in Round Rock.
ESD flooring in an active aerospace facility
Craftsman installed 4,000 square feet of ESD epoxy flooring in an Austin aerospace components manufacturing and electronics testing facility. We sequenced the work to maintain operations and verified the installed floor’s resistance.
Flooring systems we install
Polished concrete
Polished concrete turns the slab itself into the finished floor. Craftsman grinds, densifies and polishes the concrete to the selected aggregate exposure and sheen. The slab’s condition and construction affect the finished appearance.

Terrazzo
Craftsman installs poured epoxy, cementitious and precast terrazzo for commercial and institutional buildings. We fabricate precast terrazzo in-house, including stairs, treads, countertops, wall panels and cove base. These pieces can be coordinated with the poured floor.
Epoxy floor coatings
Our commercial epoxy installations include thin-film and multilayer systems with polyurethane topcoats. We select the assembly around traffic, chemical exposure, texture requirements and the condition of the concrete.
ESD and static-control flooring
Craftsman installs conductive and static dissipative ESD epoxy flooring. We coordinate the flooring specification, installation and required testing with the project team.
Urethane cement
We install urethane cement flooring for food and beverage processing and other wet-processing environments. System selection accounts for the facility’s operating temperatures, cleaning procedures and chemical exposure.
Concrete overlays
When the existing slab cannot produce the intended polished appearance, a cementitious overlay provides a new finishing surface. Craftsman installs concrete overlays over structurally sound concrete.
Sealed concrete
Craftsman also installs sealed concrete floors where a sealed finish suits the project’s use and appearance requirements.
Planning installation and return to service
Craftsman coordinates flooring work with the project’s construction schedule or facility operations. For occupied buildings, we identify which areas must close, which access routes must remain available and whether the work can proceed in phases.
We schedule preparation, installation, curing, required testing and cleanup before returning each area to service.

Frequently Asked Questions
Often, yes. Craftsman assesses the concrete beneath the covering before recommending polishing. Adhesive residue, staining, repairs and the original slab construction can affect the finished appearance. Where the slab cannot deliver the intended finish, we can discuss an overlay or another flooring system.
Before the slab is placed if polished concrete will be the finished floor. Early coordination lets us review the intended finish with the project team and address slab construction, sequencing and protection before work begins.
Yes. Craftsman installs flooring with our own W-2 employees under company field supervision. We assign crews and equipment to each project based on the flooring system, schedule and experience required.
