Commercial Polished Concrete Contractor

Craftsman Concrete Floors is a commercial polished concrete contractor providing nationwide installation with in-house W-2 crews. We work with general contractors, facility owners, architects and procurement teams on new construction and renovation projects.

Polished concrete turns the concrete slab into the finished floor through grinding, densification and polishing. Craftsman evaluates the slab, installs an approval mockup and completes the preparation, repairs and polishing required for the project.

Commercial Polished Concrete Installation Services

New construction

Craftsman reviews the concrete and polishing specifications with the construction team before installation. We coordinate slab readiness, mockup approval, trade access and the polishing schedule with the general contractor.

An on-site mockup establishes the reference for aggregate exposure and sheen. We also coordinate and install the agreed floor protection so subsequent construction work can proceed with the finished surface protected.

Existing buildings and renovations

Craftsman evaluates existing concrete for polishing, including floors beneath tile, carpet, coatings and adhesives. Previous coverings, contamination, cracks and repairs affect preparation, finish options and price.

Removing a covering does not guarantee a uniform concrete surface beneath it. We assess the exposed slab and use a mockup to establish the appearance before proceeding with the full installation.

Product and finish selection

Craftsman selects qualified densifiers, protective treatments and other installation products against the specification, slab conditions, intended use and construction schedule. We are not limited to one manufacturer’s catalog.

Our Polished Concrete Installation Process

Our polished concrete installers carry out the work under an on-site foreman. The installation sequence is coordinated with the general contractor or facility team.

StageWhat Craftsman does
Slab evaluationReviews the concrete and project specifications to establish preparation and repair requirements.
MockupInstalls a sample for approval as the reference for aggregate exposure and finished appearance.
Preparation and repairsRemoves specified coverings or residues and completes the surface repairs, crack treatment and joint filling included in the scope.
Grinding, densification and polishingCompletes the project’s polishing sequence using the approved mockup as the appearance reference.
ProtectionInstalls the agreed construction protection and coordinates access by other trades.
CloseoutProvides the project’s required records and maintenance instructions.

For slab requirements, construction sequencing and trade coordination, use our polished concrete specification and builder coordination guide. Detailed requirements and test methods are covered in our polished concrete specifications.

Nationwide Polished Concrete Installation

Craftsman assigns installation crews, field leadership and equipment according to each project’s requirements. Installation labor is performed by our own W-2 employees, with project management, safety accountability and documentation handled within Craftsman.

Mobilization and scheduling depend on the location, scope and available crews and equipment. Our national installation capabilities explain how we staff and manage projects across locations.

Installation in operating facilities

Craftsman can phase polished concrete installation around continuing operations where site access, the selected system and the work schedule permit.

We coordinate work zones, access routes, shutdown windows and the return of completed areas to service with your facility team. Dust capture and isolation controls are selected for the work and adjacent operations. Some activities still require closures or restricted access.

Corporate procurement and multi-site projects

Repeat accounts can use a Master Service Agreement with a separate work order for each location. This provides shared commercial terms while preserving each site’s scope, price, schedule and acceptance requirements.

Crews and equipment are assigned against the agreed rollout, whether the work involves one facility or multiple locations.

Testing and Closeout Documentation

When specified, Craftsman performs calibrated gloss, clarity and distinctness-of-image testing and provides a digital report. Results are mapped to floor locations and recorded with conditions, photographs and the applicable acceptance criteria.

Testing and documentation requirements are established before award. The closeout package can include product documents, progress photographs, specified test results, acceptance records and maintenance instructions.

Commercial Polished Concrete Projects

For our Round Rock retail and office project, polished concrete became the finished floor in a new tilt-wall flex-space building. The owner selected it so tenants would not need to add flooring during their build-outs.

In an Austin church renovation, Craftsman removed 9,000 square feet of vinyl composition tile and polished the concrete beneath it.
