Sika Ucrete MF (formerly Ucrete MF) is a smooth, heavy-duty polyurethane cement floor screed built for dry-process areas — chemical and processing facilities, clean rooms, dry packing lines, storage, and warehouses. It is a water-based polyurethane cement hybrid with very good resistance to aggressive chemicals and heavy abrasion, applied as a wearing layer at roughly 4 to 6 mm. What separates Sika Ucrete MF from the textured Ucrete screeds is its smooth finish: it is specified where cleanability and a flat surface matter more than the aggressive slip resistance a wet washdown floor needs. This data sheet covers its mechanical specs, service temperature, and substrate requirements. Craftsman Concrete Floors installs Sika Ucrete MF systems nationwide as a Sika Installer.

About Sika Ucrete MF

Sika Ucrete MF is the smooth-finish member of the Sika Ucrete screed family, specified for dry-process environments where a flat, easy-to-clean surface is the priority. Two things on the data sheet define where it fits: the smooth finish versus the textured Ucrete screeds, and a service temperature band set for dry-area duty rather than wet thermal shock.

Smooth Finish for Dry-Process Areas

Sika Ucrete MF is a smooth screed, which is what distinguishes it from the textured, slip-resistant Ucrete wearing layers. That smooth surface suits clean rooms, dry packing lines, storage, warehouses, and chemical or processing areas that stay dry through operation — environments where cleanability and a flat profile matter more than the aggressive wet-condition grip a washdown floor requires. Where a floor sees standing liquid, hot washdown, or heavy slip-fall exposure, a textured Ucrete screed is the correct specification instead.

Service Temperature and Chemical Resistance

At 6 mm, Sika Ucrete MF carries a service temperature of −15 °C to +70 °C (about 5 °F to 158 °F) — a band matched to dry-process and ambient industrial conditions, not the −40 °F freezer or 250 °F-plus washdown duty of the heavier Ucrete screeds. It has very good resistance to a wide range of chemicals and very good mechanical resistance to heavy abrasion, is impermeable to liquids, and is non-tainting from the end of mixing. Because chemical resistance is defined per individual chemical, Sika Technical Service confirms resistance to a specific exposure before specification.

Substrate Tolerance and Installation Notes

Sika Ucrete MF applies to 7-day-old concrete and 3-day-old polymer screed, and can go down on green or damp concrete with no standing water, with at least three days allowed for early shrinkage so reflective cracking does not telegraph through. The substrate must be structurally sound — minimum 30 N/mm² (about 4,350 psi) compressive and 1.5 N/mm² (about 218 psi) tensile adhesion — clean and free of laitance. It is not applied over polymer-modified cement mortars that can expand under an impervious resin, or over cracked or unsound substrates, and freshly applied material is protected from condensation and water for at least 24 hours. Return to traffic is under 24 hours at +8 °C, or about 4 hours at +15 °C with Sika Ucrete Accelerator.

Frequently Asked Questions

Sika Ucrete MF is a smooth polyurethane cement screed for dry-process areas — chemical and processing facilities, clean rooms, dry packing lines, storage, and warehouses. Its smooth finish suits environments where a flat, easy-to-clean surface matters more than aggressive wet-condition slip resistance. Where a floor sees standing liquid or hot washdown, a textured Ucrete screed is specified instead.

At 6 mm thickness, Sika Ucrete MF is rated −15 °C to +70 °C, roughly 5 °F to 158 °F. That band is set for dry-process and ambient industrial duty. For −40 °F freezer service or high-temperature washdown, the heavier textured Ucrete screeds carry the wider range.

The wearing layer is applied at approximately 4 to 6 mm, roughly 3/16 to 1/4 inch, over a primer slurry or scratch coat. Coverage runs about 6 to 8 kg/m² for 3 mm and 10 to 12 kg/m² for 5 mm of wearing layer.
