Sherwin-Williams Poly-Crete SL is a 100% solids, aromatic, cementitious urethane system applied at approximately 1/8 inch to produce a smooth, self-leveling matte finish. It is the smooth, thinner member of the Poly-Crete line — specified where a flat, easy-to-clean, monolithic surface matters and aggressive broadcast slip resistance is not the governing requirement. Like the rest of the family it bonds as a cementitious urethane rather than a surface film, with a coefficient of thermal expansion close to concrete. If your specification still reads Dur-A-Flex Poly-Crete SL or the older General Polymers FasTop Multi Topfloor SL23, this is the same system under its current Sherwin-Williams High Performance Flooring name. Craftsman Concrete Floors installs Poly-Crete SL nationwide as an authorized Sherwin-Williams High Performance Flooring installer.

About Sherwin-Williams Poly-Crete SL
Poly-Crete SL is the smooth, self-leveling system in the Poly-Crete cementitious urethane line — the thinnest standard build and the one specified where finish flatness matters more than aggressive slip texture.
Smooth Self-Leveling at 1/8 Inch
Poly-Crete SL pours self-level to a smooth matte finish at roughly 1/8 inch — no joints to fail and nothing for wash water to sit in — for commercial and light-industrial floors. Where a floor sees wet or greasy traffic and needs grip, the broadcast version — Poly-Crete SLB — is the correct specification; SL itself is the smooth option. It also serves as the smooth Poly-Crete body coat within broadcast systems.
Cementitious Urethane Behavior
Poly-Crete SL is a 100% solids cementitious urethane: it cures into a monolithic floor bonded to the slab rather than a film laid on top, with a coefficient of thermal expansion close to concrete so it moves with the substrate through thermal cycling. As a Poly-Crete system it is formulated to follow USDA, FDA, CFIA, ADA, and OSHA guidelines, and the published platform carries a 9,000 psi compressive strength (ASTM C579). Exact figures for this build are on the embedded data sheet.
Formerly Dur-A-Flex Poly-Crete SL and FasTop Multi Topfloor SL23
Older specifications call this floor by two other names. Dur-A-Flex sold it as Poly-Crete SL until Sherwin-Williams acquired the company on July 1, 2022 and kept the product name; General Polymers sold the equivalent system as FasTop Multi Topfloor SL23 until the 2025 branding transition folded the FasTop line into Poly-Crete. All three names land on the same current system, and Craftsman maps the legacy callout to the current product during pre-bid review.

Frequently Asked Questions
Poly-Crete SL is a smooth, self-leveling urethane cement floor for commercial and light-industrial spaces where the priority is a flat floor that cleans fast. Where a floor needs slip resistance for wet or greasy conditions, the broadcast version Poly-Crete SLB is specified instead.
Poly-Crete SL is applied at approximately 1/8 inch to a smooth self-leveling matte finish. For a thicker smooth self-leveling floor, Poly-Crete MD runs 3/16 to 1/4 inch.
It is the current Sherwin-Williams High Performance Flooring name for the system formerly sold as Dur-A-Flex Poly-Crete SL, and before that as the General Polymers FasTop Multi Topfloor SL23.
Poly-Crete systems are formulated to follow USDA, FDA, CFIA, ADA, and OSHA guidelines, and the seamless monolithic surface supports the sanitation requirements of food and beverage facilities. The applicable documentation is confirmed per project during specification.
As a cementitious urethane, Poly-Crete SL tolerates moisture far better than an epoxy floor and can install over damp or green concrete where epoxy would require a separate moisture barrier. The exact moisture limits for the system are on the embedded data sheet.
