Sika Ucrete UD 200 SR (formerly Ucrete UD 200 SR) is a hygienic, heavy-duty polyurethane cement wearing-layer screed with very good slip resistance — the high-grip version of Ucrete UD 200, built for wet and dry process areas where slip-fall exposure is the governing concern. It is a water-based polyurethane cement hybrid with very good resistance to aggressive chemicals and heavy impact, rated for temperatures up to 302 °F. The “SR” is slip resistance: this is the screed specified for wet food and beverage floors, washdown zones, and greasy process areas. Like the base product, its service temperature is set by installed thickness — the key number on this data sheet. Craftsman Concrete Floors installs Sika Ucrete UD 200 SR systems nationwide as a Sika Installer.

About Sika Ucrete UD 200 SR

Sika Ucrete UD 200 SR is the slip-resistant wearing-layer screed in the Sika Ucrete range — the same heavy-duty chemistry as Ucrete UD 200 with very good slip resistance added for wet and greasy floors. Three things on the data sheet drive the specification: the slip resistance that defines the SR variant, the thickness-to-temperature relationship, and the substrate and installation window.

Slip Resistance Defines the SR Variant

The SR in Sika Ucrete UD 200 SR is slip resistance, and it is what separates this screed from the base Ucrete UD 200. It is specified where slip-fall exposure governs — wet food and beverage floors, washdown zones, greasy process areas, and any surface that runs wet through operation. The chemistry, temperature performance, and approvals match the base product; the SR variant adds the high-grip surface a wet floor needs. Where slip resistance is not the governing concern, the standard Ucrete UD 200 is the equivalent specification.

Thickness Determines Service Temperature

As with the base product, the most important relationship on the data sheet is between installed thickness and service temperature. At 1/4 inch, the floor is rated −13 °F to 176 °F and can be lightly steam-cleaned. At 3/8 inch, it carries −40 °F to 248 °F and is fully steam-cleanable — the thickness required for freezer service down to −40 °F. At 1/2 inch, it handles −40 °F to 266 °F with occasional spillage to 302 °F. Specifying a thin build for a cold condition is the most common spec error: a 1/4 inch floor will not survive −40 °F freezer service.

Substrate Tolerance and Installation Window

Sika Ucrete UD 200 SR applies to 7-day-old concrete and 3-day-old polymer screed and tolerates substrates with higher moisture content than epoxy allows — it can go down on green or damp concrete with no standing water, with at least three days allowed for early concrete shrinkage so reflective cracking does not telegraph through. The substrate must be structurally sound, minimum 4,351 psi compressive and 217 psi tensile, clean and free of laitance. Return to traffic is under 24 hours at a 46 °F substrate, or about 4 hours at 50 °F with Sika Ucrete Accelerator, which supports a 12-hour fast-install window. Static and dynamic cracks are pre-treated with Sikadur or Sikafloor resins before the wearing layer goes down.

Frequently Asked Questions

Both are heavy-duty Sika Ucrete wearing-layer screeds with the same thickness-banded service temperatures and the same approvals. The SR variant adds very good slip resistance, which makes Sika Ucrete UD 200 SR the choice for wet food and beverage floors, washdown zones, and greasy process areas where slip-fall exposure governs. Where slip resistance is not the driver, the standard UD 200 is equivalent.

It depends on installed thickness. A 1/4 inch floor is rated −13 °F to 176 °F; a 3/8 inch floor carries −40 °F to 248 °F; a 1/2 inch floor handles −40 °F to 266 °F with occasional spillage to 302 °F. The thicker the screed, the wider the temperature range.

3/8 inch. A 3/8 inch floor is rated for freezer temperatures down to −40 °F and is fully steam-cleanable. The 1/4 inch build is only rated to −13 °F and is not suitable for low-temperature freezer floors.

Yes, scaling with thickness. A 1/4 inch floor can be lightly steam-cleaned; 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch floors are fully steam-cleanable. The system is impermeable to liquids and does not support bacterial or mold growth.
