Sherwin-Williams Poly-Crete MDB is a 100% solids, seamless cementitious urethane flooring system finished with a natural quartz aggregate broadcast at 1/4 inch nominal thickness. It is the current Sherwin-Williams High Performance Flooring name for the product sold as Dur-A-Flex Poly-Crete MDB before the July 1, 2022 acquisition, and specifications written as General Polymers FasTop Topfloor SL57 map here as well. The broadcast carries the slip resistance. The cementitious urethane body coat carries the moisture tolerance and the thermal-cycling behavior that put urethane cement in wet process areas in the first place.

Poly-Crete MDB is the heavier broadcast build in the Poly-Crete line, specified where floors take impact and rolling load on top of washdown duty. Quarter-Inch Broadcast Build on a Poly-Crete MD Body Coat

The build stacks five layers. A Poly-Crete TF Plus prime coat goes down first only where a porous substrate would outgas into the wet body coat; on most slabs priming is not required. The Poly-Crete MD body coat is pin-raked at 3/16 inch, a natural quartz aggregate broadcast lands at 1 pound per square foot behind the wet edge, and a grout coat plus pigmented topcoat close the system at 1/4 inch nominal. Compressive strength is 8,990 psi per ASTM C579 on the current 03/26 system overview, with hardness running Shore D 65 to 85 depending on the topcoat the spec selects.

Specifications written as General Polymers FasTop Topfloor SL57 map to Poly-Crete MDB. One code, one destination. The FasTop urethane cement line was consolidated into Poly-Crete during the 2025 Sherwin-Williams High Performance Flooring branding transition, so a FasTop Topfloor SL57 line item in an older construction document is satisfied by the current MDB submittal package. The Dur-A-Flex layer is simpler. Sherwin-Williams acquired Dur-A-Flex on July 1, 2022 and retained the Poly-Crete product names, which means a spec reading Dur-A-Flex Poly-Crete MDB describes this same system with an older brand prefix. Neither legacy name requires a substitution request; the system role is unchanged.

Moisture Tolerance Is the Body Coat’s Job, Not a Primer’s

Substrate moisture up to 99% relative humidity, and vapor drive to 20 pounds per 1,000 square feet per 24 hours by calcium chloride test (ASTM F1869), sit inside the published limits for Poly-Crete floor systems. That is why the separate moisture-mitigation primer an epoxy build would need is eliminated in most environments. A published tolerance is a limit, not a substitute for testing. Our crews run pre-install moisture and substrate testing, including in-situ relative humidity probes per ASTM F2170, and the readings decide the build before material ships.

Wet Process Floors Under Impact and Rolling Load

Poly-Crete MDB runs where washdown duty overlaps with mechanical abuse.
