3/16 to 1/4 Inch of Urethane Cement, No Topcoat
Poly-Crete MD is placed as a two-coat system per the manufacturer’s application instructions. A Poly-Crete TF primer goes down first at 80 to 90 square feet per unit, and the body coat follows by pin rake or cam rake at 3/16 to 1/4 inch, covering about 32 square feet per kit at 3/16 inch before spike rolling within 15 minutes of mixing to release air. Shore D 85, With the Matte Surface as the Wear Layer
Shore D 85 hardness per ASTM D-2240 and 8,990 psi compressive strength per ASTM C-579 are the current published values, alongside 50 mg loss on the ASTM D-4060 CS-17 abrasion wheel and a static coefficient of friction above 0.6 per ASTM D-2047. Those numbers describe the surface traffic actually touches, because the colored urethane cement is the wear layer rather than a sacrificial film. Thermal movement is the quiet spec. The manufacturer rates the coefficient of thermal expansion as similar to concrete’s, which is why the system stays bonded through washdown heat that shears rigid resin floors off the slab.
