Understand the coverage for your project

Craftsman Concrete provides a standard one-year warranty on polished concrete installations. The warranty period may vary by project; the written agreement establishes the duration, covered work and applicable conditions.

Keep your project warranty with the product information and maintenance instructions provided at closeout. Together, these documents explain the installation, its care requirements and the coverage that applies.

Review the warranty alongside the agreed installation scope. The documents should identify:

ItemWhat to confirm
Covered workWhich parts of Craftsman’s installation are covered
Coverage periodWhen coverage begins and how long it lasts
Applicable conditionsMaintenance requirements and other conditions attached to coverage
ExclusionsMatters outside the written warranty
RemedyWhat the warranty provides when a covered issue occurs
ContactWhere to direct a question or report a concern

If any of these points is unclear, ask us to clarify it before closeout. Our polished concrete closeout guide explains the records that accompany the completed floor.

Manage documents, maintenance and concerns

Keep Craftsman’s project warranty alongside any separate manufacturer product warranty, since the two may cover different things. Use the care instructions for the products installed on your floor, and check the warranty conditions and discuss the work with us before changing the protective treatment or undertaking repairs. If you notice an issue, contact Craftsman with the project details.

Keep workmanship and product warranties separate

A warranty for installation work and a manufacturer’s product warranty may cover different things. Where separate product coverage applies, retain that document alongside Craftsman’s project warranty.

Do not assume that a manufacturer’s statement about hardening, dustproofing or water resistance also covers installation workmanship, retained gloss or every change in appearance. The written terms identify the promise and the party responsible for it.

Maintain the installed floor

Use the care instructions for the products actually installed on your floor. Cleaning products, equipment, spill response and protective-treatment renewal all need to suit that system.

A polished concrete floor can require maintenance during its warranty period. The existence of a warranty does not, by itself, establish that routine cleaning or treatment renewal is included.

Before changing the protective treatment or undertaking repairs, check the warranty conditions and discuss the proposed work with us. That helps identify any implications for the installed system and its coverage.

Contact Craftsman about a concern

If you notice an issue, contact Craftsman with enough information to identify the project and understand what has changed.

Useful information includes:

  • The project name, address and installation date.
  • Photographs showing the affected area and the surrounding floor.
  • When the condition first appeared and whether it has changed.
  • Recent cleaning, spills, repairs or changes in use.
  • The relevant warranty and closeout documents, if available.

These details provide a starting point for discussing the condition and the applicable project terms. A change in appearance alone does not establish its cause or whether it falls within warranty coverage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our standard warranty is one year. Some projects have a different warranty period, as stated in the written project agreement.

Coverage depends on the written project terms. A warranty period should not be read as a promise that gloss, color or appearance will remain unchanged under every use and maintenance condition.

Not necessarily. They may cover different work or performance and identify different responsible parties. Keep both documents where separate product coverage applies.

Contact Craftsman with the project details, photographs and a description of the condition. Include when it appeared and any relevant cleaning, exposure or repair history so we can discuss it in the context of the installation.
